Readiness Journey: Integrated View

Introduction

We are committed to a robust transition support for all Market Participants to the Restructured Energy Market (REM) implementation. This will include clear communication, supporting resources and materials to understand and adopt changes, and detailed training to transition systems where required.

Through the transition, Market Participants will have opportunity to provide input, so we understand your implementation requirements and operational impacts.

Your feedback will help us identify readiness needs, prioritize engagement activities, and ensure that our approach to Market Participant readiness addresses your organization’s key concerns.

A Closer Look at InfoHub Release 1

With the launch of InfoHub approaching, we'd like to share more about what you can expect when the platform becomes available.

The first release of InfoHub this September focuses on making it easier to access information and interact with the AESO; it does not change existing market rules or reporting requirements. Future releases will continue to expand InfoHub with additional services and capabilities.

    Find information faster

Existing public reports and APIs will be available, making information easier to find and access.

    Securely exchange files

Market participants will be able to submit files for operations coordination directly through InfoHub using a secure online service.

    Learn in one place

InfoHub training materials, user guides, FAQs and knowledge articles will be organized in a searchable Resources section.

    Assistance and support

InfoHub will provide integrated Help functionality and notifications to keep you informed when new information becomes available.

We'll continue to share additional information and resources as we get closer to launch.

    March 18, 2026

Aaron Engen, AESO CEO, presented at IPPSA and provided a high-level view to the work underway at the AESO to prepare for a successful market transition, the planning and timeline for IT system testing and implementation, and how the AESO will support market participants to prepare and transition successfully to the new market. An overview of his remarks is available here, visit aeso.ca/transition for more information on how the AESO is preparing for the electricity framework transition.

    March 4, 2026

We will be hosting a full-day hybrid stakeholder session on Tuesday, March 24 for Market Participants to learn more about the AESO’s high-level plan guiding the work and preparations required for the successful implementation of the REM.

This session is intended for those responsible for leading and coordinating their organization’s REM implementation readiness across operations, technology/systems compliance and change management. Ideal participants will include the project manager and/or technical lead overseeing implementation planning activities.

Due to space constraints, only one representative per organization may register to attend in-person. Others can join virtually and will have opportunities to participate and ask questions.

    Session Objectives:

By the end of this session, Market Participants will:

    1. Understand the high-level plan and key milestones required for REM implementation including system updates.
    2. Gain visibility into the major changes to systems and impact of those changes.
    3. Understand the AESO’s approach and supports for enabling the transition to the new market.
    4. Understand the expectations of Market Participants to support their own readiness activities.
    5. Understand the AESO’s overall engagement plan for the ISO Manuals and Information Documents related to the REM ISO rules, and further review of the REM ISO rules.
