Further tariff amendments to align with the AESO's Connection Process are currently being engaged on within the Amendments for the AESO Connection Process workstream and are therefore out of scope for this engagement.

In fall 2023, the AESO implemented a new approach to processing system access service requests (SASRs), known as “Cluster Assessment.” With the implementation of the Cluster Assessment, the AESO revised the timelines within its connection process (the Connection Process) for project applicants to provide evidence and payment of the GUOC. These timeline revisions to the Connection Process created some confusion for Stakeholders when read in conjunction with the corresponding timelines currently set out in Section 7.

The AESO is of the opinion that the scope of the issues identified is minimal. Therefore, the AESO is targeting completion of stakeholder consultation for the proposed amended Section 7 by August 29, 2025.
