Stakeholder Questions
Determining TRP Base Rate
Further to the April 15, 2026, discussion, we are seeking your input on how the AESO should engage with industry to develop an acceptable TRP Base Rate ($/MW). For example, preferences could include (bur are not limited to) discussion forums, facilitated workshops, confidential submissions, or a combination of approaches.
1. What engagement format would your organization prefer for this work, and why?
STS Contract Capacity
The AESO has proposed to apply the TRP rate to STS contracted levels. Following the October 2025 TRP session, the AESO requested feedback on what STS contract capacity should be based on, and what the consequences should be for going over STS. Further to the April 15, 2026, conversation, we want to hear your thoughts on those same questions, but for the perspectives of transmission connected suppliers; distribution connected suppliers; and sites that consume some of the produced energy on-site (for example, for on-site load processes, to charge energy storage, etc.)
2. What should STS contract capacity be based on?
3. What should the consequences be for going over STS contract capacity and what should that threshold be for going over (i.e. once in a year, 5% of time, over by a certain amount, etc.)
Proposed TRP Implementation
4. Do you have comments on the AESO’s proposed implementation of TRP? Please provide details.
