
Feedback on CONE Study June 22 - July 15, 2026
We value stakeholder input and invite stakeholders to provide their feedback on the materials presented on June 15 for the proposed CONE Study via the following stakeholder feedback form by July 15, at 4:00 p.m. MT. Please be as specific as possible with your responses. Thank you for your input.
Purpose
Following our session on June 15, 2026, we are inviting written comments from stakeholders that will help us refine the scope of the Cost of New Entry Study.
Instructions
1. This feedback form is open to all industry stakeholders.
2. Please fill out the sections using the written feedback form provided.
3. Only one completed feedback form will be accepted per organization.
4. To upload your completed feedback form:
- You will need to be registered and signed in on the AESO Engage platform; and
- You will need to be on the REM ISO Rules page, which can be found on the AESO website at www.aeso.ca and follow the path: AESO Engage (found on very top navigation bar) > Hub > ISO Rules; and Restructured Energy Market (REM) ISO Rules
5. Click on the "Submit Stakeholder Feedback" box below to upload your completed feedback form.

1. Are there additional generation technologies that should be included in the study?
2. What criteria should be used to select a reference technology for the Secondary Offer Cap (SOC)?
3. Do you have feedback on using combined cycle natural gas as the SOC reference technology?
4. If combined cycle natural gas is not appropriate as the SOC reference technology, what alternative would you suggest, and why?
5. What indices should be used to track reference technology costs over the 5-year CONE study period?
