Stakeholder Updates
December 16, 2025
The AESO has updated the Tariff Redesign schedule for 2026. Please refer to the respective AESO Engage pages for specific workstream schedules. Where it makes sense, we’ll consolidate engagements for multiple workstreams to maximize time and efficiency for stakeholders.
The “Connection Costs Allocation & Investment Policy” workstream has been renamed to “Tariff Connection Obligations” to reflect the broader scope including determination of costs allocated at time of connection, investment policy, connection alternatives, substation fraction review, billing and contracting for multiple points of connection and post-energization obligations in the potential case of stranded costs.
Additionally, in response to stakeholder questions about where and when certain topics will be discussed, we have posted a guide that indicates which workstream(s) where certain topics will be developed and discussed.
Feb. 19, 2025
We will be introducing the AESO's 2025 Engagement Plan with focus on Tariff activities and Transmission Reinforcement Payment (TRP) at the REM Design Finalization Week 1 on Feb. 25 - 28, 2025. Note that in-person participation is restricted to REM participants, however all stakeholders are able to listen in to the sessions.
While the sessions are booked for the whole day, the virtual portion will end when the in-person breakouts begin, typically in the early afternoon.
