Rate of Change of Frequency (RoCoF) Stakeholder Survey | Due June 21, 2025
Purpose
The AESO is seeking the participation of Legal Owners and Operators of Generating Facilities to help assess equipment limitations, protection settings, and risks associated with RoCoF events during system-wide frequency changes. Accurate data from all generating facilities is critical to defining these risks and ensuring the reliability of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System (AIES). The AESO previously requested participation in the survey in December 2024; however, due to limited response, we are again requested your prompt participation to enable the AESO to fulfill our mandate for system reliability.
Action Required
- Complete all sections of the RoCoF survey form (available for download below, or under AESO Materials).
- Submit one comprehensive form per organization, including all generators owned.
- Provide the required data and records in accordance with ISO Rules, Section 503.21, Subsection 6(1) to 6(3).
Deadline
- Submit the completed form/responses by June 21, 2025.
