The Procurement Plan enables the AESO to procure customized grid services that satisfy our reliability requirements at an affordable cost by:

• Proactively planning, prioritizing, and communicating procurement needs over a rolling three-year period

• Aligning internal and external resource requirements and timing
• Identifying and addressing long-lead items
• Learning from external stakeholders by engaging early and often through the design process
• Providing market signals to advance developing technologies and increase competition
